Vaquita are the worlds most endangered marine mammal. Due to entanglement in illegal fishing nets, the vaquita population of more than 200 individuals in 2008 had dropped to less than 30 individuals in 2016. Currently, there are fewer than 15 vaquita porpoise individuals left in the world.
